A long-term presence
Since 2006, MSC has delivered more than 100 greenhouse projects across the Dominican Republic. To support them, it runs its own distribution and storage centre in Rancho Arriba. The centre gives growers a quick response for installation and maintenance, and keeps a large stock of spare parts.
Supplies held locally
- Greenhouse supplies: plastics, mesh, crop-support hooks and twine, clips, growing beds, drainage plastics and channels, coir substrate, and vibrating pollinators
- Irrigation supplies: automated irrigation with pH and EC control, pressure-compensating drip hose and tape, drippers, pipe and fittings, and water tanks
Built for the tropics
At the 2016 Santo Domingo agricultural fair, MSC showed its K3 model, designed for mild, tropical and subtropical climates. Compared with earlier designs, the K3 has larger vent openings, wider spacing between internal columns and a higher gutter. It does this without losing wind resistance, airtightness or the strength to carry the crop.

The country’s greenhouse industry grows coloured capsicums for export to the United States. Well-sealed, high-quality greenhouses help growers meet export biosecurity requirements.
What it means for Australia
Local support matters as much as the structure. With parts, supplies and service close at hand, problems get fixed quickly and growing time isn’t lost.
